The event
We are going to start off January with a big bang!
It’s Cambridge Day on Saturday, 25 January 2020. So get ready for a whole-day event from 10:00 – 15:00 at the BMK (Berufsschule für Medien und Kommunikation), Eulenkamp 46, Hamburg.
On this day, Michael McCarthy, who you may remember from the HELTA EAP Day in 2018 or know from his extremely popular grammar books, will share how corpuses can help us organise our teaching of advanced levels. And Olha Madylus, sponsored by Cambridge University Press, will suggest a way forward for those who teach examination preparation classes, where perhaps not all students are of the same level or may not even intend to take an exam.
During the breaks there will be a chance to meet other preparation teachers, as well as visit the book exhibition to explore the latest materials available to help you with your classes from Young Learners to A2 and B1, through to academic levels and Business English.
After lunch, our own Andreas Grundtvig, in his role as Centre Manager of the Cambridge Examinations Centre Nord & Grænselandet, will discuss the procedure for registering students for exams in the region and discuss the procedure for hosting exams in schools. If you have already done so, this is an opportunity for you to share your experiences and ask any questions.
We hope you will all join us to kick off the new year with what promises to be an excellent event made possible by the kind support of Ernst Klett Sprachen GmbH and Cambridge University Press.
Spaces for this event will be limited, so please remember to register in good time by simply sending an email with the subject line “Cambridge Day” to .
